Our Commitment to Your Privacy
At Bread Count, we believe your financial data is deeply personal. That's why we've built our app with privacy as a core principle, not an afterthought.
The short version: We cannot access the financial information you enter in Bread Count, and we do not use your information for advertising or cross-app tracking. Purchase information is processed by Apple and RevenueCat so we can validate purchases, restore access, prevent fraud, and understand aggregated purchase performance.
No Access to Your Data
Bread Count is designed so that we cannot access your financial data. This isn't just a policy—it's how the app is built:
- All your assets, values, and financial records are stored exclusively in your personal iCloud account
- We have no servers that store your financial information
- We cannot see, read, or access any data you enter into the app
- Even if we wanted to, we technically cannot retrieve your financial data
iCloud Storage
All your data is stored securely on Apple's iCloud using CloudKit, Apple's secure cloud framework:
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest using Apple's encryption standards
- Your data syncs automatically across all your Apple devices signed into the same iCloud account
- Only you can access your data through your Apple ID
- Apple's privacy practices govern how your iCloud data is protected
For more information about how Apple protects your iCloud data, please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Purchases, Subscriptions & Analytics
Bread Count uses Apple's In-App Purchase system and RevenueCat to provide purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat acts as a service provider on our behalf and may process an anonymous app user ID, device type and operating system, last-seen time, Apple receipt and transaction information, product identifiers, purchase dates, subscription status, renewal status, and expiration dates.
We use this information only to:
- Validate purchases and unlock BreadCount Pro
- Restore access across devices
- Handle renewals, cancellations, billing issues, and refunds
- Prevent purchase fraud and provide customer support
- Understand aggregated purchase performance
RevenueCat processes this information in the United States and does not receive the financial balances, assets, goals, or other content you enter in Bread Count. We do not use purchase information for advertising or cross-app tracking. For more information, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Apple may also provide standard, anonymized App Store analytics, which include:
- App downloads and updates
- Crash reports (if you've opted in through iOS settings)
- Basic usage statistics (app opens, device types)
These analytics never include the financial information you enter in Bread Count.
You Control Your Data
You have complete control over your data at all times:
- Export anytime: You can export all your data in CSV format whenever you want (Settings → Your Data → Export Data)
- Delete anytime: You can delete individual assets, entries, or all your data directly from the app
- No lock-in: Your data is yours—take it with you in a standard format
- iCloud control: You can manage your iCloud storage and data through Apple's standard iCloud settings
Service Providers & Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share purchase and technical information only with Apple and RevenueCat as needed to operate purchases and subscriptions, comply with legal obligations, protect rights and safety, or complete a business transfer subject to applicable law. We do not share the financial information you enter in Bread Count because we cannot access it.
Retention & Your Privacy Rights
Your financial records remain in your iCloud account until you delete them or manage them through Apple's iCloud settings. RevenueCat retains purchase information according to its retention policy and as necessary to provide purchase history, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
You may contact [email protected] to request access to, correction of, or deletion of purchase information associated with your anonymous RevenueCat customer ID. Deleting a RevenueCat customer record does not cancel an Apple subscription; subscriptions must be managed through your Apple Account.
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Any significant changes that affect your privacy rights will be communicated through the app or our website.
